Changing The World Via The Internet

My pediatric practice was thriving in the mid '90s. I had developed a reputation for working with families on illness prevention and development issues. But people would make appointments for "Jason's runny nose," when they really wanted to talk about feeding issues, potty training and behavior changes.
I spent as much time with each family as I could, even giving out my home number, but I was frustrated that I only skimmed the surface of the information parents needed to raise healthy families. When the Web started to emerge as an information powerhouse, my wife, Cheryl, and I started our own Website with the library of information we had, covering everything from common colds to temper tantrums. At last I had found a way answer all the questions parents had about their families' health. Back then, early Website developers were toying with charging for information. But when Cheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 and we were faced with unanswered medical questions, we decided
DrGreene.com must remain a free resource of valuable medical answers.
With the cancer, Cheryl had to stop breastfeeding our infant son, and her simple question, "What do we feed our baby?," started me thinking about how our environment and the food we eat affects our families' health. Today, with Cheryl (who is thriving physically) at the helm of
DrGreene.com, I write books and give interviews and talks about organic food choices and healthy home environments for children.
Fulfilling our original goal of answering parents' family health questions and furthering education with what we've discovered about nutrition and environment, Cheryl and I know we're doing everything we can to help create healthy families.
